FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Channelview Fire Department (CFD) is a proud institution that has been in existence since 1949. In 2012, CFD transitioned from a volunteer organization to a fully paid department staffing two Fire Stations, with 13 Apparatus and over 90 highly motivated career firemen and paramedics. 

The Channelview Fire Department provides Fire-Rescue and Emergency Medical Services to the 45,000 citizens of Channelview in a 16.2 square mile area, averaging 6,000 calls for service per year.

RESPONSE

The ability of emergency response agencies to get personnel and equipment to the scene of an emergency in a timely manner is critical. This involves effective alarm handling time and turnout times.

COMMUNITY

Channelview Fire Department takes an active role in the community to show the continuing dedication of service to the Channelview citizens.

PREVENTION

The department also educates and trains the public and emergency responders with a wide variety of fire/life safety programs.
